Stereo?

I have never taken so long to uninstall a cd deck and install a new one in my life.
total time=3.5 hours.
went from stock cd/tape to a high performance clarion deck. for first 15 or so mins, i just sat there looking at it going. what in the hell do i do...
finally found this site
http://www.geocities.com/svxdc/AudioInstall-2.htm
this was a blessing. haha made it pretty simple. just had a bit of a issue with getting all the mass amounts of wires to fit behind it all. Deck has about 10 RCA jacks coming out (siruis radio, mp3 plugin, amp/sub out and so on) plus a bunch of other stuff.
needless to say, i dont ever plan to take that deck out...
i think i made up a pretty cool setup though, ill post pictures tomorrow.

Yeah lol I had mine professionally installed because I looked at that tutorial and told myself **** that. Today though I'm pulling it out to hook up an amp and sub.

I've had like 4 different cd players in my car, and helped 3 members install cd players in their own. With the custom wiring adapter, I can install a cd player in about 15 minutes, if I have to splice the wiring using the color chart it takes me about 45.

yeah, the tutorial really helped. and i had to cut both the deck harness and the car wiring harness, and sauter them all (had no good connectors around) then heatwrap them.
im going to wire sub/amp stuff today. Anyone got any good idea where to breach the firewall to get to battery for Amp power?

i ran my amp wire threw the left inner fenderwell.there is a grommet hole by the battery with a lot of wires running into it. i ran the power wire threw this, into the fender, and near the door there is a tiny grommet hole that a yellow loomed wire goes into. i can fita 4 gauge but that is the biggest i can fit. you will then have to fish the wire from inside the car behind the kick panel then you can run it under the carpet to the trunk.

I'm sitting in my car with my laptop wondering the same thing lol. Putting it through the inner wheel well seems a tad bit hard no? How'd you go about getting it all the way through. Seems real crowded. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using a wire bigger than 4 gauge

Anyone else get their amp power cord through their firewall?

There is a very large grommet on the firewall above the gas petal that I used for my wire. I believe it is almost directly under the master cylinder if you look from the engine bay.

I also ran my 4 gauge amplifier power wire through the large grommet in the firewall. It worked great and looks good too. I'm planning on running another 4 gauge wire through there next week.

stock cd player/tape deck configuration?
or another cd player? i've got like, 4 other ones kicking around.

i used that large gromit above the gas pedal as well, little tricky to get at with a very dislocate-y shoulder though.

the only crappy thing now is, my sub is rattling the trunk like mad. i had to squeeze the sub box in so now every things all tight, so it rattles on the outside. sounds awesome on inside though!
