Z32 MAF issues

I just swapped on a AFM from VG30DETT. I spliced and soldered the harness onto the existing wires and plugged it into my intake snorkel. However when I went to start the car (it did need to be jumped due to the fact that it has not been started in a while) it would start and rev up to about 1500-1600RPM and then slowly trickle down until it stalled out. Is this an issue because the car sat for 5 weeks while work was being done on it or is this more likely due to the new AFM? Any insite?

It won't work meaning that there will be no gains or it won't work as in the car won't run properly?

Both!
It will run like cr@p if at all without ECUTunes chip.
Call Mike,305-546-9359 and tell him what you are doing.
If you are running a modified engine, (turbo, supercharger, NOX,) his chip, around $219, if I remember correctly, is well worth it!

I do not give out praise easily, and only if it is deserved.
His chip is worth it, if your engine is MORE than stock!

The Z32 maf is useless without something to make sense of the voltage.

Take that off your car it is running full rich and you are lucky it started at all,I tested that last year.

well the car won't be started again until I order the chip and a wideband so I can monitor the AFR

Widebands are about $350.00
And they do not want you to use them all the time, only for testing.

I know that they were that much but I have never heard that they do not want you to use them all the time. Why is that?

The full project entails a turbo set-up very similar to Phil's. I plan on using a Garrett GT35R turbo. Starting around 4 lbs and slowly working my way up (troubleshooting as I go) to about 9-10 lbs of boost. I plan on using the stage 2 v5 chip from lan and the same vortech rrfpr that phil uses. Prior to the turbo there will be engine work done (which is currently underway). This includes polishing the intake plenum and stacks, modifying the butterflies in the TB to open to a more horizontal position, getting a set of deltacams (any ideas on what the specs for these should be for a F/I set-up would be helpful), and a few other minor things that can be tweaked.

The wideband O2 sensor will burn out.
I have a bar graph wired in to work all the time my parking lights are on,
(which is all the time) and it reads richer than my wideband.
So it's a good thing my brother Mark (Mark5) got it for me or Iwould have run too lean, for too long trusting a narrow band from Nordskog, wired into the factory pass side O2 sensor.

Dont forget to port match the TB and manifold, and stacks, and intake and exhaust ports, and get a full set (5) of phenolic spacers!

Yeah I noticed that the butterflies don't open to perfectly horizontal when I was taking the plenum off.
What is the difference betweena narrow band and a wideband? And why wouldn't the narrow band burn out too?
Phenolic spacers are definitely part of the master plan

The narrow band is what MOST fuel injected cars run.
They are cheap and good enough....
However a wideband willtell you exactly what your A/F ratio is right now.
You can watch mine in a movie I took of my boost gauge/wideband and
G-tech. It's kind ofr cool .

ps. I have in my locker "porting Intake" and "porting exhaust".
Will you have your heads off?

You need the chip to run the Z32 MAF. It is definately worth your money. I highly suggest waiting to get the chip until LAN releases the stage 2v6 in it's final run... Trust me, just wait for it
