Custom "stock look" subwoofer enclosures - possible group buy

I just spent the weekend at an all-Subaru meet and one of the vendors there was an up-and-coming custom stereo install place that is really into Subarus. Aside from high-end custom "one-off" installs, their other specialty is producing custom sub enclosures. So far, they only have a few WRX options, like I said, they are a young company. But I saw/heard their work and it is top notch and very impressive.

Here's a link to their site, read the story about the meet to see how much they love Subarus and then look at their products to see how seamless they look.

I asked about the possibility of producing a enclosure for the SVX, as a group buy so it wouldn't cost as much as a one-time deal. They are receptive to the idea and said we can start by just gauging what interest is out there. So here we go!

This would basically be for those of us out there that would like a little extra low end quality sound to our system, but don't want to blow the doors off or fill up all our trunk space/weigh down the car. These enclosures are custom molded to one particular model of car, and even to one particular side of the car and carpeted, etc to blend in perfectly. Also very lightweight material, and they try to make them bolt in without altering the vehicle. Goes without saying that sound quality is a priority too and the cubic inches are properly designed for the size woofer. You can buy them with our without one of their subs installed, though he said there'd be more room to bargain if the woofer was included. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but feel free to ask me more questions if you have them.

To start, we just need to chime in if you are somewhat interested, the goal is to get enough people to make it worth their while as it is a very time consuming and expensive process. No commitment for now, but eventually before any work began I think they would want like 50% down from everyone in the group buy.

Price totally depends on lots of factors, but I'm guessing anywhere in the neighborhood of $300-$350, maybe tack on $100 or less for the entry level subwoofer. I could be wrong though.

Again, check out the WRX boxes on the site, ours would probably mount in the same corner and be out of the main trunk area and blend in fairly good.

Any interest?

sounds good to me, id like the ability to put 10 inch speakers upright in the back... my 2 infinity basslinks only fit horizontally. either that, or maybe the spare tire compartment make like an enclosure that has screened ports flush with the trunk floor

im still gonna look into a "false back" for the trunk... or a custom fit carpeted piece with grills for me to add a sub and bolt an amp to the back of the trunk, jsut a simple flat snug piece to jam in there to get all the bang and most of the space.
