that's a great idea, but i see one problem with it: what happens when you run out of water? if the water injection replaces a traditional coolant system, you'll sizzle the engine if it runs dry.

scenario: soccer mom yacking on cell phone, sees "low water" idiot light, pulls over, fills the windshield washer fluid tank, and sizzles her engine a mile down the road.

what happens when you run out of gasoline?

I read this article a month or so ago. Seems like a good idea. They said he was basically using equal parts gasoline and water, so it seems like the gas stations could add a "distilled water pump" to their stations and keep with the profits

You could also pipe the drain for the A/C into a storage tank to improve your MPG

The car runs on BOTH... it's not just a coolant, it is also a source of power. therefor, injectors stop spray water (ie run out) I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the engine is going to shut off. I don't think 1 power stroke can support 5 unpowered strokes.

Plus if it went into production, I would expect that an "auto shutoff" would be a pretty easy thing if it heats up to a certain point. I'm kind of suprised cars don't have them as they're standard on most transit/transport vehicles already.
