what has your svx been confused as?

I've had people tell me it looks like a DeLorean on more than one occasion. I can understand the confusion with the older MX-6/Ford Probe since both bodystyles were penned by Italdesign-Giugiaro.

Also, check this out. Talk about a ripoff design!

when i went to a UHaul dealer to try and rent a trailer to haul my SVX 5 hours to get repaired, the guy at the counter said "What are you hauling? Is it that PROBE out there" as he looked into the parking lot. I nearly jumped over the counter and choked him. Another lady once thought it was a Saturn with custom windows.

But it was nice once when I was down town at the huge meet, I was at Wendy's with my buddy(frostys kick ass) and a woman as I was getting into my car said to her kid "I wish they still made cars like that, I always loved the SVX." I was like, SWING! MILF that knows her cars!

On the freeway some young person will pull up on the left and match my speed for a mile or more.. you know they are trying to decide what it is, usually they speed away, I'm sure they still don't know.

Theres a cadre of people who know exactly what my car is and flock around when i go out to the parking lot. Then there are chicks who actually say: "did you know your thunderbird has, like, really weird windows..?"

Got the Ford Probe before, but the lady that had me laughing was the one that asked were I got my windows done. She wanted to have a set installed n her minivan.

I've gotten 240sx, Ferrari, and "What the hell is that?" Mad people have told me 240sx, probably because I owned 11 of them before I got this. I'm always on the verge of selling/trading this car for another one, but right before I close the deal, I stop answering e-mails, lol.

I've been asked if the windows were a custom installation. And then there was the women on the interstate (at speed) who motioned for me to roll-down my window, then gave me a thumbs-up and hollered that she just wanted to see how it worked.

Can't recall anybody just taking a wild guess at what make I'm driving, but the old gals sure get lots of long looks around here. Just yesterday I spied a fellow giving the silver a walk-around in the supermarket parking lot.

I've been flagged to pull over on a few occassions by people who just want to know what the hell kind of car it is, and want to know more about it. I get talked to about it in grocery store and mall parking lots, and pretty much every time I gas up. I have got Probe, Eclipse, Talon, and Saturn... So often, people ask if the windows "came like that" or "Where did you get those custom windows?" or people who just want me to roll down the window to see how it works. I love my cars.

I chortled once when someone asked me if the top window rolled down.

I asked them "where would it go?"

They said "I dunno".

I've been asked under differing circumstances what it was, usually because people forget after I tell them. They see 3000GT or a Talon and say, "hey isn't that what you drive?"
Most people around here know about the car. A few people have intercepted me to comment on it, or talk and look about it. I haven't run into anyone pretending to know about it.

The most frusterating moment for me was my first run at the track. I wrote SVX on my entry slip but when I lined up the guy called it a 92 WRX.

when i asked about correcting the incorrect model description, i was told it would take a sworn statement"just get this form filled out and there will likely be another fee honey" was what she said....(hey !! i got called honey!! )

upon returning with sworn statement, i can pay another $10.65 to have a new title printed off.........

i was p-o'd cuz i figured with incorrect info i couldnt get the car registered.........BELIEVE IT OR NOT she said it was fine the way it was!!!

I got pulled over and was almost given a repair order for my windows once. The cop said he was going to keep my info and follow up on it to see if I was fibbin.
