The End.....

This morning I received the phone call I hope none of you ever have to get. They are totaling my car. Exactly what Beav described in the "Tragedy" post is what occured. The engine is locked and they are too afraid how the car will react in the future to fix it.

My SVXing days are over. No 10th anniversary meet for me and honestly I will most likely retire my No. 2 ranking from this site. My posts will now be very few if at all.

I just want to say I have enjoyed every minute of my SVX experience and that all of you have been really cool to hang out with these past few years. I will really miss all of you. I know I could still hang out here but honestly it is just too painful.

I am probably going to buy the car salvage just to get my wheels and tires, mufflers, exhaust tips, radio, etc. the rest I will just sell to some junk yard. Randy if you want to come down and pick the car apart you are more than welcome to do so for free.

Good luck to everyone on this board and I wish you the best.

NO WAY!

Leo,
There's an engine on ebay right now for $500 bucks. It's in MI about 3 hours away from me. I've already sent an e-mail to the seller asking for his phone number on some other parts I'm looking for. Do you want more details on it???

Todd

Yeah. Let them write it off, buy it back, get the engine off eBay, and end up with some money to upgrade the car as well.

Who cares about the salvage title, if the car's a keeper anyways?

That's the saddest thing ever. I'm not even sure how I would feel if the same thing happened to my SVX.

I agree with VK - swap out the engine.

Damn...and I was doing pretty well at work today. This just ruins my day to hear about your loss.

Unhappy

I'm so sorry to hear about this Leo! You could save your car pretty easily though.. The only problem would really be the engine (drivetrain too if the oil is contaminated and not changed out) But you shouldn't just quit the club!! You're a huge part of the SVX family here! I hope you reconsider and fix your baby back up..

10th anniversary project

How about we all chip in and tear into Leo's car at Indianna in June. We'll flatbed it there and get it back on the road.

Clean every wire and connector, polish every peice of metal.

We can find a way to get the engine replaced. There's got to be someone close by with a garage.

We don't want to lose you Leo! Time to rub a little dirt on that bruise and get back in the game!

We're here for you.

Doug

That'd be cool

Sounds like an SVX rebuild at the meet. I'd be up to put in some time working on it.

Say it ain't so!

Oh, man, Leo, give yourself the weekend, then think through your decision. Don't do it when you're so caught up in the emotion of the minute.

Wonder if SubyQA could find us some space (and perhaps a few mechanics) where he works?
