Got my first ticket in the SVX

Yeah I was speeding like an idiot and got caught . 4 points on my liscence and im guessing a 150+ ticket here in New York City. He said he nabbed me for doing 81 in a 55 although i thought i was doing 70...whatever the case is i was speeding and got caught. So lesson learned.......dont speed. I blamed it on the SVX....because it effortlessly gets up to 80 with no problem....so I didnt even know i was going that fast because i was pretty much the only one on the highway. Oh well my mistake and here goes more money I dont have out the window =(

Thats the same situation Im in right now, cop pulled me over saying I was doing 65 in a 40!! I was watching the speedo the whole time, I gained speed to coast up a quick steep hill (hit 45-46 at the most), I lost pretty much all my speed as I hit the top of the hill and as soon as I came over the top there he was. I've got a court date sometime next week.

SVX = speeding ticket. As you said, the SVX just loves to go fast.

Too bad.

You have some pretty weak speed limits down there. we get up to 50-55 in town, 65-70 on the highway.

The trick is though, they only come after you if you are alone.

Here they come after you with ppl in the car so that they can bust the people in the car for various things....drug possession...not wearing belt...stuff like that. On the main highways the speed limits are 65 mph but i was on a parkway which is why it was 55. A parkway where kids love to race their civics....so its a good reason to keep it low and bust their asses.

.....they lowered it to 55 so they can bust civics for a reason.....They cant go over 65 in the first place. The lower speed limit is to prevent noise pollution

I know what you mean by the svx hates 60, being alone on the highway, ect. And the speed limit here depends on how fast the guy in the brighter colored than yours car is going.
good example...my ticket. Up here, the speed limit on the parkway, as defined by the law above, is about 80. a little further north its 90. But a little further south......Well, your the only one on the road, so its 65. I was driving at the speed limit Im used to and got pulled over. Lets face it...the bright red "sports"car going 80 in a 65 is irresistable for an early state trooper breakfast.
He was cool about it though, bumped me down to like 77 I think it was, so its less points. Then he lost my licence and cost me about 100 miles of gas becasue we missed the ferry. He felt like an idiot and decided I should plead not guilty..We will see how that goes

Lesson to learn...Follow the brighter colored than yours car, becasue odds arem, he/ she will be the first pulled over

I got pulled over more in the ebony than in the red car. Infact, I never got a ticket with the red car.... now that I think about it, can I have my car back??

I know all the hiding spots too....I didnt see him at all. I dont think he was hiding...i think he was on the road and saw me speeding along and gunned me down on radar. When I saw him behind me I was surprised and went into my "oh ****" mode

The interstate speed limit is 75 here and you can drive 85 and not worry much about a ticket unless you are driving recklessly by changing lanes quickly or some other stupid stunt. On I-25 there is very light traffic, so it is perfect for SVX cruising.
