Hello all!
hey there everyone, my name is Zak, im from Litchfield Connecticut, and i have wanted an SVX since before i could drive, i think i may be picking up a 1992 SVX LS-L (Touring right?) i have been searching this site for a little while now and i still have much more reading and searching ahead of me. but i do have one question as of right now...the LSD...like in many other "drift" cars i know you can replace the LSD, how strong is the one in the SVX, are there replacement aftermarket LSD's that can be used? thanks everyone and im glad to be here and hope that everything works out and i can be a proud new owner!

Welcome to the forums. Glad you're considering an SVX. If you get one, make sure to frequent this place. Tons of valuable info all accessable by the Search button up top. And yes, LS-L is the touring model for 92 (as indicated by stock CD player, spooiler, leather, etc.

hey
it was an LS-L, but it didnt have the spoiler, everything else pointed to the touring package, the vin stated at the fifth number x35...so ya, touring. it was in decient shape the dark green color, i forgot the actual name for it. grey leather interior, cd player, sun roof. cruise all those little goodies, 130 thousand miles, asking price is 3650, there is a slight bump in the rear right side, and the drivers side seat-cover is rather ripped up, i did kelly blue book, said around 2950, so if i decide to go with that one prolly offer 2800 cash and go for it. yeah ihave been lurking on the search engine for the past few days now

Ive purchased a few SVXs, sight unseen. Make sure you take it for a test drive to check it out. Make sure it goes through all of its gears, and check to see for any warning lights, also humming from the rear of the car indicating the possibility of bad rear wheel bearings, which are a pain to replace. I would think a fair price (if it has a bump, and its the "Teal" color) would be between 2000 and 2700 if it runs and drives WELL. Dont be afraid to offer less, he wants a top dollar for it, you should get a top car for the money (its the right car, just be sure it doesnt have mechanical issues. Check the oil for any milky debris, check the atf to make sure it doesnt smell burnt, etc.
There are many things to look out for, so use the search, be careful, and good luck with your purchase. Welcome to the Community!

Youll probly get like a bajillion threads on stuff to look for while buying an SVX, so I wont even go and make a list. Also try searching the technical archives for usefull stuff. Good luck in getting your perfect svx!

Welcome to the site.
The spoiler was an option on any of the models so if it doesn't have one, that doesn't mean anything. The search button has been mentioned, but the How-To Documents are the most "not looked at" source of information here. There is most anything that you need there and if there is not, ask for it and it may be added. Good luck with your quest.
