Anyone Ever Used this Kit on their Headlights?
http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg...._1881_13245758
Looks too good to be true, but much easier than cooking and replacing the lenses!

Again
Again--if your headlight is just yellowed use some Brasso and then Rain-X after. If it is extremely bad you might use some 2000 grit wet sandpaper first. This is about the cheapest solution I know and is quite effective. There are other plastic polishes but they usually cost significantly more.

I've never used it but Permatex is a reputable company, it's probably similar to Novus plastic polish.
The brasso route works pretty good, gonna have to do mine again before Reading.....

i have one of those "flitz" things. seems to be pretty good. however some of the discolouration/dirt seems to be inside the assembly in my case

I've used it. It works pretty good. Yellows back to where it was in about 3 or 4 months depending on how hot it is. Summertime kills it faster. But then... just do it again.
It's plastic polish with it's own rag under a kewler name and an even kewler box.

Use Wax
Quote:
I have a 1994 SVX, and my lens are not yellow. But I also put Carnauba wax on my head light lens and wax my head lights when I wax my whole car. I also wax my turn signal, tail lights etc... My reasoning is that since car wax fights oxcidation and weathering, it might protect the plastic lenses from yellowing. I also use a polishing machine to take the wax off. At least I don't have to go back in and put Armour All on the plastic parts over the areas. Just my theory on the matter. Last edited by awdsvx; 02-10-2006 at 09:11 PM. |
