Not to hijack your thread, just asking because I dont know.
The light weight stock size ones theoretically should allow the engine to rev up quicker due to less rotational mass.
The underdrive ones should free up some horsepower by reducing parasitic losses by the power steering, alt., and AC.

You won't feel either gains by the seat of your pants. You probably would not see either even on a dyno.

Replacement with a stock subaru pulley is the safest option because you retain the rubber dampener. There has been quite a debate here and on other forums on whether going to a one piece pulley will eventually destroy your engine. So far we haven't seen any failures.

The one piece construction guarantees you that you don't have another pulley separation like with the stock pulley.

It is common for the stock pulley to let go but not guaranteed. I've seen alot on here breaking over 125k or so but there are also alot of them still running with many more miles than that.

Just keep an eye on yours (listen for squealing on startup or in turns) and if it does break you know your options for replacement.

My car is over 125k so I guess it can be called 'preventive maintenance'. For other folks it would be labelled 'self destruction'.

Bomz Pulley Pic and Weight Info

I am posting this post up so that people can get an idea of what the Bomz pulley looks like for the SVX and weight info.

The Bomz pulley weighed in at exactly 1lb. Not even an ounce over.

The pulley is an underdriven unit so it is not for everyone. A disclaimer states that belt sizes may vary slightly but Bomz recommends using the Gates Brand belts.

Alternator/Water Pump Belt - Use Gates K050330 (33 5/8" or 855M).
Air Conditioning Belt - Ultra S Gates K040335 (34" or 860MM).

I need to order these belts because I simply do not have time between work and school this week. Hopefully, I can get them in before this weekend and possibly test them out on the dyno vs the stock units. Stay tuned!

BTW: I just ordered both belts from:
https://ec.kamandirect.com/projectfiles/home.jhtml

Hopefully they'll get to me before the week is out.

Just updating some info in case anyone in the future is looking for it. I weighed the stock pulley. It weighed in at 4lbs 13.1oz (I'm sure this is posted up somewhere).

So you get a savings of 3lbs and 13.1oz. Not too bad.

The sizes do not seem that far off. Here are a couple of pics of the stock pulley vs the Ebay Bomz pulley.

Now that I have gotten some practice changing out the pulleys, I can go to the dyno and test them out. Hp/Torque readings may be different than before since I have a different set of wheels on the car. That's all for now.

You might lose some power. It has been shown at least on some racing engines that light weight pulley can interfere with the valve train in fact a heavy damper can sometimes make more power. Take the mass out of the flywheel since it is damped by the clutch or lighten the internals.

I know this thread is old but are these the correct belts?

Alternator/Water Pump Belt - Use Gates K050330 (33 5/8" or 855M).
Air Conditioning Belt - Ultra S Gates K040335 (34" or 860MM).

Thread romancer?
I dunno.

Take an OEM belt to a parts store and ask them for one that's an inch or two shorter. That's what I did.

My belts were a ***** to find for my underdrive pulley. I had to look everywhere for a belt 1 inch shorter than stock. I don't know who made my pulley, But it came off of Solarsvx's WRX.
