Its a sad day for me...
Looks as tho I will probably be leaving the family for a little bit...
recently I stumbled apon a deal I just cant pass up, while surfing around the web I stumbled apon a 2003 Honda S2000, it has 56000 on it and is still under warrenty with a local dealer, heres the kicker too.... ONLY 5400!!!! as you could understand this is just too good of a deal, so I think I will be temp selling the SVX and buying that bad boy, maybe keep it but most likely sell it for 3x that I pay for it and then buy a newer SVX, get a 5 or 6 speed and either a super charger or a turbo charger! or maybe an STI , but yeah, I do plan on returning to the group, I will still be here posting and keeping tabs but I think this is something I just gotta do... Just thought I would tell you guys about my situation, wish me luck! -Chris

too good to be believed
Damn, can it be true? How is the title? Any problems?
Could it be just the downpayment of that car? That's a super deal on that car. You don't have to be feel sad or just get financing or take loan to buy that car and keep the SVX.... Keep us updated ...

yeah...that doesn't sound too right there...
make sure the car is good... you dont want to be getting your car towed because it was "HOT" property

nope, clear title, transaction is going to be done through square trade...
I make a 2k deposite, they bring me the car I do a full inspection, test drive it, what ever I wanna or need to do, if its all good I send the rest of the money and the deal is done. I did a quick history check on it, no theft, no accidents, no nothing, its all clear. I would give you guys a link but it was on for one day, I emailed him(as well as a few others, but i am first) and he pulled it the next morning. I can post a pic of it I pulled before he removed the car... thats the exact car... dont dig the yellow but hell... and yes Danny I will be returning if this happens

Think about it this way, if the wholesale blue book value of that car is much higher than $5,400.00. They could take it down to their local Carmax or large auto dealership and get more than double that amount in cash for it. Or even put it up on Ebay as a no reserve three day auction... The scam typically works like this - the person doesn't live in the country and can send you a bounty of pics on the car. They ask you to send a deposit of a specified amount to them overseas and promise to fly back 'immediately' once the deposit is received and cashed. You never see the owner or your money ever again... Don't send any money w/o seeing an inspecting the car first.

Btw, another way to catch the crook in the act is to ask them to send some odd pics of the car e.g. pic of the vin plate under the hood in conjunction with the one at the base of the windshield and on the door jamb. No one takes pics of all three, and if the numbers don't match up then you know he's phoney...

Oh GOD, man don't do it, just forget about it, this happens here all the time!!! well it happened to my uncle, but that was with an "inheritance" amount and not with a car. I thought the car is in the same country... don't do it, just go and take your deposit back and forget all about this stupid deal...
BTW, my uncle paid so far 450,000$... he got scammed big time They started by telling him there is a 50 million $ which needs to be laundered in another country (it is illegal, but doable over here). so they start by telling him something with the paperworks reached a dead end and need to bribe some employees in that other country... then they need $10000 to process the transactions... little by little they managed to suck dry him with $450000 !! ... Chike is right, don't go through it

still too hard to believe
Curly, have you sent the money? by cash? by western union?
why didn't he want to get more for the car if he just simply drove to any dealer and get a higher trade-in value? Chike, he said he test drove and inspected the whole car..... Which web site did you see the ad? Sometimes I understand that that's the trick from the dealers to make people phone more - that's actually the price of the downpayment.....but Keep us dated

Oh Chike, it makes more sense now if he has not seen the car....
I hope *that deal* has not gone through yet... Sometimes if I browsed thru certain stuff on eBay, weird enough there's people emailed me with the similar things for a good deal. Clearly enough, that's a scam to me. What I did reply to them, I CLICKED reply all ( I knew that should have buncha list of email addys hidden in bcc ) and replied some brief msgs like STOP CHEATING PEOPLE AROUND......and etc.
