Need some help with locks

today I went out to unlock and start my car right... put the key in the hole, wiggle it a little, tough, keep gently wiggling, a loosen'd up, try and turn it a little, Crack! the dang key snapped in half in my lock... I never got the factory keys so I was basically running the vallet key so I cant get any of my stuff, great... so basically, what is the deal, why are they sticking and not opening right... also where can I get a factory key that will open everything, and thirdly, how the heck do you program the remotes?

To get quick answers I would think you would use the search key. But then again, maybe not.

They are probably not working because they have some corrosion in the locks. I would use a good lock oil in them. The other reason might be that the keys are worn and don't work properly.

If you want a good key cut, go to the dealer with your VIN. Make sure you take your registration with you. Many will not cut a key without it. That is for your safety. They can cut a good key from the VIN.

To program your remote, go to the How-To Documents here. It is under security system if you look without the link.

Good luck.

Use the advanced search. You can search posts all the way to the beginning. I wonder if the eddycat forum is hidden or were all the posts deleted?

Can U get in thu the Pass side? If you can you may be able to unlock the door. If you can't, U have the same problem I have your auto door lock is broken . You can fix it temp. by removing the fuse for the door lock in the fuse pan by your left foot. . if u put the window down and fool with the inside and outside u may be able to trick it into opening . If not getting the fuse out u may need the help from the carnival when it come to tow.<LOL>

One of the more common problems then is that the security module is bad. You can replace that and it should work again.

I would try again though. I have found if it doesn't work you may need to try it later.

Are your batteries good in the FOBs? That would be one of the first things I would check too. Good luck.

Angry

it could be that your lock seized up from not using it at all..not necessarily seized...but try some wd40. just stick it in there (with the little straw that comes with it and give it a good squirt)...
the only other thing i could guess is that it's not the right lock for the key. which both you and me would hope not.

but i know what you mean about wiggling the key in order to get it to work. i hate that.
