Phil,
I'm not sure why a problem with the backlash gear would cause mechanical failure(s) unless you were waaaaaay beyond the design limits of the EG33. The gear's design is to take up any "slop" between the intake and exhaust gears (when they "mesh" together). Can you provide a little more detail? -Bill

looks like you simply bent the snap ring that holds the gear on. I dunno though that pic doesn't show much

Is that 4k because you had to replace the engine?

I have a gift for you. It is a period. It is used to end sentences.
(.) Very sorry to hear about your troubles. People may better understand you, and help you, if you write a bit more clearly. Best of luck.

WHY? theres plenty of low milage SVX engines found for under $1000 Its not like you put in performance parts... |

Yeah really all you had to do is swap the motor out for another SVX motor.

That is mighty unfortunate.
At least now you have bunch of new stuff. (: I'd take new stuff over a used engine.

Well when my brother would restored older cars it was very important that you keep everything original. So i thought i would do that and buy all new parts from subaru the car only had 41k on it when the motor went bad. It had 38k on it when i gradguated and my parents gave it to me since i always wanted it.As long as i kept everything orignal because it will be well worth it in the future.
