RideReview: Volkswagon Jetta VR6
My dad had a Jetta VR6 on 'loan' this weekend and I had a chance to drive it. This was definitely the Queen of Jettas.
Leather/Power interior. Contol layout was rather similar to the SVX. I will say the ride-hight felt quite weird. Also I never manged to find the 'comfort' zone for my seat. Oh well it worked out. Now this car had a manual transmission. It has been probably 3 years since I drove a manual. I managed to drive it reasonably well and didn't kill it once (my brother did though and his car is manual hah). Worst thing I did was I broke the tires once (or was that on purpose...I forget . There was definitely some nice mid-range power. Conclusion: really expensive jetta. Nice Engine. 7/10 I really need to try a 4-motion/turbo golf out someday just for posterity (presuming such a thing exists). Oh yeah, and I desprately need manual trans in the SVX. Damn the electric fence! |

my wife has a vm gti 1.8t
i put a muffler on it. so the car sounds alot better. car really does have some power though. it is as quick as the svx and only has 150hp and 140 or so torque. of course it weighs some where around 2500lbs which helps out. nice car though and lots of fun to drive. definitely got some fit and finish problems though.
