that is actually done to make people believe they are going slower than they actually are so to enable more speed traps and give out mroe tickets... At least that is my view. Or it could be done like that from the factory to allow for people to "think" they are going faster without attaining that speed

So, what's the conspiracy theory for the cars that are actually travelling faster than what is indicated on their speedos?

Uhhh, nope. My town has one and it matches perfectly with the in-car radar in all of our cruisers (patrol speed readout) as well as the so-called calibrated speedometers in all of our cruisers.

And I'm around 2750/80 with the stock transmission.

Your tires are too big

On a serious note, That is just theory. not saying it would be bad idea from the factory to set the speedo a few moh fast to keep people from getting speeding tickets but eh, what do I know?? Im not saying it is the government trying to bring me down or anything but just some food for thought
