If I do choose to go down to N.O. it's more than what you can or will do. I may not be able to bring many supplies, but some is better than none. Sure if someone starts shooting at me, you damn sure I'm going to shoot back.

No, I have not gone 3-4 days without water.
No, I have not gone 5-6 days without food.
Yes, I can see myself driving down there and shooting people.

Turn that frown upside down pal.

I assume your aware of the fact that marshall law has been declared in New Orleans are you not? And I also assume you know that civilians are not allowed to carry firearms during this time are you not? And I also assume that you know that civilians who carry firearms during this time face federal felony firearms violation charges and perhaps even additional charges on the local level. So why don't you go to New Orleans and start shooting off your mouth and shooting off your guns and see what happens.

Early this morning I donated an amount to the Red Cross that would in all probability would be equal to about three weeks of your salary. If you even have a job that is.

Hope that makes you feel like a real man now! Sorry but I'm not one to advertise how much I give, where I give, or who I help nor am I one who likes to hear others feel the need to tell the world how good they are because they give X amount and then go back to their life like nothing has happened. Maybe you should take that money back and go spend 3 weeks (which is the standard ARC deployment for disasters) helping give water to 80% ungrateful trash that just wants to know where to get the money and government handouts so they can rebuild in the same spot and get it all destroyed 40 years later because no one was wise enough to say living by the southern coast is a dangerous thing!

No I'm not saying that those in the region are like that but from my experience at such disasters in the past this is the prevailing additude from most of the "needy" who just got done stealing 30 pairs of new paints from their neighborhood store. Oh yeah, and in case you didn't notice, Harry was kidding. On the other hand, I am not.

Do you really think that the storm had any more effect on gas then the war? The war had more of an effect. The storm was a scapegoat, the gas companies would have raised prices anyway. The storm just a reason to rip us off. If they thought they could get away with it they would say "hey america guess what? We are the fuel companies and we can do what ever we want, now what are you going to do about it? Nothing damn right!" Well guess what A$% !@*& I AM going to do something! I am going to bend over and buy more fuel!

Sry got carried away

Sounds like a vigilantly looking for trouble to me. And besides who really cares what you have to say benebob except perhaps Noir. And you know what they say about birds of a feather.

Yip, you sure did when you climbed up to your podium to pin your medal on your chest for writing a check in an obvious time of need for the ARC but I'm sure you'll forget about the fact that to them, this is just a drop in the bucket for the services they provide 24-7-365. How much did you give to the American Red Cross already this year? How about last year? Oh, I guess the millions who needed help prior to now weren't important. Good thing you got a medal now to show off!

I believe the word you were looking for is "vigilante", but yes, you do need to be awake to look for trouble.

Yes, I'm aware that the state is under 'martial law' and what that entails. I'm happy that aid is finally there, but it sounds like the NG's using a plan that's very similiar to what I had in mind except it's on a grander scale.

I think PA_SVX hit the nail on the head though. Those shooting at rescue workers, rapists, mob mentality thugs who opened fire on the police/law enforcement, and looters who were robbing/shooting other citizens should be executed on the spot. Thankfully, the NG is there ready and willing to use force against those who have been preying on the weak for the past few days.

I applaud you SVXtra for your selfless acts and your generous monetary contribution to the victims of Katrina. I'm sure the victims will see a fraction of your contribution sometime in the months to come.

May God welcome you at the pearly gates to his Kingdom. God Bless you SVXtra.

I'm sorry to say that I'm still unemployed unfortunately by choice. Since I'm unemployed at the moment, my tri-weekly salary is 0. The probability of you donating anything more than what I make tri-weekly would be correct.

I can't offer much to the people in MI, AL, and LA (unlike yourself), however, I can offer you a giant heart-shaped cookie as a token of my appreciation for the big heart that you have been blessed with.

Actually the .50 cal remark was a joke, but in regards to the rest of my statement, I wasn't.

If anarchy ever spewed up into the 'durty south' and we had some thugs roaming the streets raping women/girls, shooting at the law, shooting at rescue workers, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to eliminate them to conserve the precious air we breathe.

Some of my friends discussed going down there to provide whatever aid they could if aid has not reached them by tomorrow. They were willing to purchase food/water and haul it down there in a small caravan. N.O. is 5.5-6.0 hours from the 'durty south' but finding the accessible paths would have been slightly more difficult to calculate. I-10's pretty much shot, so......

Although 'martial law' is being enforced, I highly doubt that any of these people who would be travelling down to help would do so unarmed.

You are most welcomed down here in the 'Durty South' benebob since you're a pig and I'm a swine.

keep your checkbook out, because there are morons living on faultlines, too close to active volcanoes, and in other places that flood on a regular basis.

I would prefer to delude myself that these ... err... "cops" are just plain looters in Mardi-Gras costumes. Let me keep my illusion about police being the good guys, please.

That doesn't surprise me at all. New Orleans has been known for at least 15 years as having the most corrupt cops in America. They are largely underpaid and have little or no college or military requirement. They end up with mostly unskilled, uneducated, minorites, with High School diplomas or GED's. You notice everyone in that film was a black female officer. Many of them are probably from the ranks that walked off the job after the poor neighborhoods they came from were wiped out. You are seeing now what the social agenda has done to America. Now a system that hands out money to undereducated people with little or no motivation to do anything but stay on the welfare ranks is gone, and they can't cope. If you knew how many able bodied 20 year olds there are collecting some form of welfare in this country it would knock you over. I have chased 20 year old drug dealers through yards and over fences only to be told by them after they are caught they are on SSI because they can't work due to an "injury" or "handicap". Looting to them is accepted because they don't know any better. Welfare reform is and should be a very high priority in the next elections. Problem is you can't have a platform that makes you look like you are taking money from the poor and elderly. Problem is there is almost as many abusing it as using it.

It pisses me off to see a video like that because my dad and brother and father in law are all cops and all 3 of them are as true as you will find.
Hell, my dad doesn't even speed in his street car! Ever! It is kindof annoying sometimes.

Videos like that just show you how some cities or states will hire anyone to be in law enforcement. I think a video like that has to be seen though for the upper ranks and city/state officials to wake up. I hope both of those women are stripped of their ranks.

In NY state you have to pass all manner of tests including psyche exams and physical fitness and academic tests. Then try to make it through the training (aka boot camp)

Probably has alot to do with how much they pay cops in some states and how little they are paid in others.

That [video] was a lot less chaotic then I had imagined.

Think of all the unregistered firearms that were probably taken, though.

I don't know about the states but up here Wal-Mart keeps a pretty sweet cache of weapons and ammo.
