You know you’re an idiot when

After owning your SVX for 9 months you finally decide it is time to replace the broken trunk cable/ broken trunk release only to find out the switch on the trunk lid has been in the “disable” mode and there is nothing wrong with the cable or lever. . .

Life is ever so much tougher when one is stupid.

Gotcha beat. Right after I bought mine, I picked-up an overhead switch console from eBay because my dome light didn't work, and I got it in my head that the problem must have been the overhead switch. Duh... it was just a blown bulb.

Last month my son calls me in a panic on his cell phone [I'm in a meeting right] and says " dad I'm driving in the rain on 66 and I have the wipers on but I can't see! Because the Windows are all fogged up"! Then I said "do you have the blower set on defrost to blow warm air on the windows?" My son says "yes". Then a few seconds later he says "never mind dad I had the a/c on." And this is from a 26 year old former U.S. Marine with a BS degree in biology...

Hahaha!

Too bad for me my trunk release cable really is broken. I checked that lock switch idunno how many times. Was in denial for a while. Now I have come to terms with needing a key to pop the trunk.

well, once I had my jeep towed home...figured it out a week later, the bad U-joint had shaken the transfer case into neutral :O then there was the truck problem, my old F250 wouldn't run, it never ocoured to me that it was out of gas since I had just filled it up... but it had 2 tanks and the other tank was full to the top :O, gawd, I had it towed too...

Girls are expensive, dude. No offense to the girls at all. Definitely not saying it's not worth it. Before I got married I had all this money to upgrade my mountain bike/car stereo/computer/paintball equipment and now I barely have enough to put gas in the car. Either my wallet likes to eat money or my wife has a special power of moving the money out of my wallet to hers. Eh well.

I almost replaced the front case and all when it was just a hose disconnected not allowing my 4 wheel drive to engage on my old blazer.

You know what's happening to you? you are not letting your wife feel the pain of spending money. We all know that they like to go shopping and stuff like that, they spend knowing that it is a concept of "easy come easy go" when it is a "getting F***** up to come and easy go" for us.
Let me give you an idea: Next time she asks for money, give her like $50 or $100 to spend and let her put it in her bag. before she leaves by a couple of minutes, open her bag and grab the money out and let her go shopping without money. (I know it will be somehow an embarrassing situation for her, but eventually it will pass) but then she will realize that she lost it and will know the true value of it. (let her search for it for a couple of days and never tell her that you took it). Tell her now you knew the value of this $100? as you lost it today, I always have that feeling when I work my B*tt-off to earn it and then you come and take it and spend it without any effort whatsoever...
nice idea , hein?
