We have a street in Winnipeg called Valour Rd. so named for the war heroes that lived there. They had something going on there this morning as I drove past on my way to work.

As a current (10 years now) member of the Armed Forces (Coaet Guard), this time of the year makes me proud to serve and helps me realize the proud heritage the military provides.

For those who want to know about the 5th and smallest U.S. Militar Branch, The History Channel is airing a 2 hour special about the U.S. Coast Guard's history. It starts at 9PM EST. I know I will be watching & recording it for certain.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

there's always Memorial Day for those who gave it all.

to my fellow veterans (USAF, honorably discharged Nov 1976) I extend a virtual clasp of my hands for the brother/sisterhood of those willing to put their life on the line for their own and others liberty.

A salute to Archie, my former father-in-law, a Marine caught in the thick of the action in the South Pacific during WWII and still going strong, and to all present who serve or have served. Many thanks, folks.
