Who has the worst (yet functional) gas gauge

OK, the gas gauge is obviously (in)famous for it's accuracy at the bottom end of the scale.

Mine's fairly stable, taking about 11 gallons when the needle is on 1/4 tank left, 12 when at an eighth. I never go lower than that because I'm just too chicken

How's yours?

mine changes soo much... i even ran out when my PCV valve needed (still needs) to be replaced. i was so used to the way it was , where when the light came on, it took 14 gallons, and about 225-250 miles per tank, that now that the MPGs have dropped, i actually competely ran out of gas... so embarrasing

i have approximatly 1/4 tank left when the needle hits the line for "E" but when i fill up it does go the whole way above "F"

When I get the dash light that says "I'm starving for gas" and I wait until it stays on instead of just staying on at startup, I can put a little over 13 gallons in and the gauge is just above E but hasn't moved for a while. When I fill it up, it'll hang out at F for a while before it starts to move.

Mine is fixed. When it hit E, it means you have to fill it up or else you have to push.

my light doesn't even go on until the marker is past the line; it comes when the marker is even with the lower left corner of the "E'. i have 361 miles on the tank and the light isn't on yet. i will get to my refueling station at about 390 miles. i expect to put about 16 gallons in. i wish i had my camera today.

and to finally answer the original topic of this thread. my gas gauge is incorrect, but it is incorrect consistently.

Cool

When the light comes on, I know I can drive for two more days.
I love Japanese precision.

Yeah mine sucks. Had the needle maybe 1/8" BELOW the E......it was DOWN there, seriously. Like the temp gauge when the car's off and ice cold. The light finally came on and I filled it up with 16 gallons ....est 20.62 mi/gallon not very good, maybe it's the cold weather with it running real rich.

Yeah the gas gauge is a bit goofy the light works and mileage varies but it is a incorrect consistently and mileage is predictable.
Thankfully I have never ran out. I feel I just have to say " YET"
for the most part, when the light comes on I've always factored about 30 miles, but have seen better then that. At fill up, oh it's about empty 15 gallons. no light no gauge would just be bad..

I've never run mine down to when the light comes on. Who knows? Maybe my light doesn't even work. I have run it down to where the needle was just below the lowest line, but was chicken to go any farther.

Light..

On the three occasions that I've had the guts to drive until the light came on It took 15.+ gallons to fill it up...

I always try fill it up when the gauge says 3/4 empty and it takes about 12 gallons there...

When my bf larry used to have his SVX it would only read how much gas there was until 1/2 a tank then it would just drop to E. He usually tried to keep it over 1/2 full but, if it went past the gas light would still work for some reason...
