gas gauge

my gas guage moves up and down while i drive untill i get to half tank what could cause this and does ne1 else have this problem

Your fuel gauge in the tank is broken, yes other people have this problem, And yes I heard its not fun to replace, but do a search on Gas Gauge.

Pretty much every '90s Subaru I've seen has a problem with its fuel gauge. I have three Subarus right now, and (oddly enough) the SVX has the best one.

Driving Subarus has taught me to use the trip meter religiously.

same problem with my gas guage. Do you have to remove tank or can you get to it from trunk? Thanks... Jim

The gas gauges have worked well in all the Subaru's I have and have had. Only the SVX makes gas when the tank get to E.
