Strange Noises...
Hey,
A question for all you SVX guru's and generally awsome mechanics... When I accelerate there is a funny noise like a buzzing, mabye a fan or something. But only when the engine rpms increase and it's under load. Diagnosis? --Bissell-- AKA SeVeX |

the usual thing to check first is the heat shields around the exhaust system.

Buzzing
Hi Bizzell,
From the old man who spent hours under the car looking for the stupid buzz. It's the rear catalytic converter, (yes, there are two, a small one in front and a larger rear one). Cost to repair, about $150 at a muffler shop, they will weld in a new one for you. Sorry, live with it or fork out the cash to fix it. Does anyone out there know if it will hurt the car to just ignore it? Have fun with the SVX. |

Still check the heat shield... It's annoying.. and I don't know how or if it would damage the car..
