You should probably direct this to ensteele...

Not that he has too many of them or anything, but he's not far from being able to say which color is best

seriously, the differences are small enough that I think many members would say the best model is a more function of how well cared for it was than the year. here's a link to what changed year to year: http://www.cars101.com/subaru_svx.html

It all depends on what you want. 92/3s have speed sensitive steering. They came with auto seat belts. 94+ have central locking button. They have dual seat belts 96+ have ODBII. Put it this way, they are all the same.

So did the 93s.

Which one is best?

It is better to have a SVX in front of me than a Frontal La-bot-o-me!!!

they are fast as in '30-140' fast, not '0-60' fast.

slow off the line (heavy), but the weight is nice when you're doing 100 and it feels solid as a rock.

For $5k there is no better car on the road than an SVX.(period) If you have special needs like 5 kids, or a reoccuring need to move sheets of plywood, something else my be better for you. The SVX is the best all around car I've owned. If you want to drag race you can go 0-60 in 2.4 seconds with a 10 year old ZX-11 for 5 grand. of course, I'll race you in Feb in NY with the SVX. Seems like 2004 is the year of the POS race car... SRT's, fast cavaliers... and so on. If that's the price you pay for performance you can keep it. More NEONs were made this month than SVX's ever.

That's why I like the SVX.

Personally I think Mike's SVX is like the cleanest, most tasteful modded one.

Personally I think the best SVX is a 92 LS-L kept in PRESTINE condition. The problem is, it's more than likely that it hasn't been. Being the first year, sometimes 92's can be prone to headaches, although EVERY SVX will have it's rough times.

Finding my 92 LS-L in a garage with 47k miles, a tranny cooler, Synthetic trans fluid and another SVX next to it, I knew i should jump on it. If I couldn't find a 92 LS-L then I was hoping for a 97.

Oh - don't 92's "go" faster.........no limiter?

Not really. After you hit 130 in the SVX, you will get scared. Esp. if you do it in the rain. FWDs would be in theory faster. 92s are quicker than 94+ from experience. Don't ask why but they are.

Not to be a dick but how about you use the search engine and read the FAQ before you start posting like 50 questions.
