Who changes your SVX's oil?

Well mine's going to need a changing soon and it's very tempting to take it to the penzsoil 10 minute oil change right down the road. I know a real man changes his oil himself, but I just don't have the time, resources, or desire to do so.

So I'm wondering what the general consensus here is. Who changes your oil?

you don't have time? (10-20 minutes, you can't be THAT frickin' busy.)
resources? (oil, filter, crush ring, catch pan - a formidable list!) desire? (i guess you trust the high school drop-outs who work in these 'Quicky Change' places with your car? i guess you've never heard the stories about the 'loose drain plugs', etc.)

it doesn't mean you're a real man(or woman!), it just means you have the satisfaction you did the job right.

I actually don't trust the quick oil change places, hence the questioning. I think most of us have heard the horror stories. But I recieved a coupon in the mail today for $10 off at JiffyLube.
$10 is $10! And 10 minutes is 10 minutes!

But I know you're right.

I guess i just needed to be talked out of it. Thanks!

It isnt an uncommon occurance for the quick lube places to drain the transmission and then over fill the oil. We've had it happen to customers cars more than once. Also, we've had customers come in where we discover that the place changed their transmission filter and not the oil filter.

OIL

Hi everyone, And then there was the time, back in the eighties, I filled up the crankcase with five quarts of oil. Then I noticed I had forgotten to replace the drain plug. Can anyone guess how many square feet five quarts of oil will cover? The leading edge hits the west coast on Thursday. Take care, BOBB

i've heard horror stories of someone taking their car to a jiffy lube for oil and tranny fluid.. the place drained both but neglected to refill them.. the guy's car just grinded to a halt about 50 feet out of the jiffy lube driveway..

Who changes my oil: Whoever I pay $10 to...... LMFAO

I would love to change the oil in the X but I get paranoid just jacking the car up. Much less, being under it for a long period of time.

I did, whoever, learn my lesson having someone else change the oil, When the oil plug fell out while driving 90 m/p/h on the highway

I would not recommend anyone else to do it except yourself of a suby dealer/ mechanic. I would never recommend the quick lube places! I had a horrible experiance with Jiffy Lube years back with my other vehicles.
