Or when you take the long way home from work.... through the middle of town just so you can see the reflection of your SVX in the windows of the stores

( if they would just put mirrors up insted of that see through glass i could see my car better )

When you contemplate running 4 miles to work on Tuesday because it's supposed to rain, but you just washed the SVX on Sunday.

When you get upset that your commute is now only 4 miles instead of 30 because you no longer get to go on the interstate at 80+ MPH.

When you have not driven it since the Reading Meet to keep it clean and the first
time you do, a bird craps on the hood while you are driving and you pull over to clean it off.

Crap, yeah, I do that, too.

As a matter of fact, I've even asked my wife if she would drive the SVX past this building on I94 several times, with me in the passenger seat. That way I could take some photos of the car reflecting off the cool windows that point down at the freeway at a great angle.

1. You shift the tranny yourself in city traffic so as to eliminate those needless, heat-generating extra shifts.
2. Between checkpoints (at my work) you leave the driver's side window down, even in the freezing or blisteringly hot weather, so as to not prematurely wear out the window clip
3. You fear others driving it due to the TPS issue
4. You leave the sunroof cracked overnight, even in rain, so that if it does clear up the next day that is two less movements that the sunroof motor had to make.
5. [My favorite] You turn the radio off before you shut off the car, and wait until the car is already started to turn it back on, such that when you turn on the car to restart it will not cause the antenna to go up/down/up.

You walk backwards into work - every day!

Unnecessary trip is an oxymoron.

You'd much rather go through a drive-thru than to a swanky eatery. (Your waiter wouldn't ask about the car.)

Hahahaha
I do that.

6. You push it out of the garage into the driveway so you can admire it while sitting in the rocker on the porch on a saturday afternoon. (you push it since it's bad for the engine to start it and then stop it without warming it up completely)

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned.

You put WAY more money into fixing the car than its BB value (even against your mechanics advice)

You lay awake at night contemplating your first real drive when its out of the shop.

-or-

You lay awake at night imagining how it will look when its "done"
