Road Trip to Louisville

Well, I've finally given over to the fact that the noise I was blaming on the Perelli's is actually a wheel bearing. An appointment has been made and I'll take the two hour drive to Louisville so I can make sure the bearing is done RIGHT (Thank goodness for Beav).

Like I told Beav, it's strange to say (considering I have to get up very early on a Saturday, drive two hours to spend around 300.00), I'm looking forward to it. Not to mention, they're predicting SNOW --- whoopee!

Maybe Beav should check you PS O ring to make sure it is not defective!

If it isn't, I got one in the mail that is. I'll just replace the good one with THAT one.

Speaking of ORings

And now for a smooth segue....

What size ORing do I need. It would be nice to know BEFORE I take the car apart, since it complicates the trip to the store if you take it apart first.

Which bearing was it front or rear, and what did it sound like.

With thanks to Trevor -- here are the o-ring dimensions:

svxy,
Seems to be the left rear. It sounds like a low tire (low droning pitch at low speed, picking up to higher pitch as speed increases).

When the right rear went out on my other car, it sounded more like a "Monster Mudgrip." Could have been because, since it was on the opposite side of the car, and I couldn't hear the early sounds, it became louder.

If you have someone drive you down the road while you're in the back seat listening, it's a little easier to detect which side the noise is coming from.
