Brake caliper sticking

I have a sticking brake caliper. Are these cars prone to that. I think i am going to try to take it off, clean it up and sand it and oil it up and see if that works.

I wouldn't say they are prone to it, but as with everything on the car they are getting pretty old by now so it is not surprising.

I wouldnt sand anything, just inspect and clean your slide pins with Brakleen and a brass wire brush, then relube with silicone grease. Also make sure your slide pins are straight and smooth.

Re: Brake caliper sticking

If it's a rear caliper, they're dirt cheap rebuilt ($40-$50.00).

Re: Brake caliper sticking

For fronts, you can get the front pair, rebuilt loaded with ceramic pads for $95 from autozone.

Man, you got a part # for that. I didnt try autozone but advance wants like $120 for a refurb. They have one for 64 on the website but they said they cant sell for wait the website price is. I told them that was like $60 more and they said "yeah, you might want to order off the site and save some money". I think if they have it on their site they should have the same at the store. Be able to get it anyway. Thanks man, i am going to call autozone now.

Re: Brake caliper sticking

If you're replacing calipers, you probably should replace the lines as well.

+1 for autozone, replaced all 4 of mine from them for really cheap after I returned the cores.

Part number if the link doesn't work is P1960. They are $94.99 with a $95 core. I just got them at the store a few weeks ago.
