To buy or not to buy?

This is in my area. http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/cto/1923072724.html

I was thinking of getting this and then adding an AWD tranny. Looks to be in pretty good condition and I'm gunna go check it out tomorrow. 1499 seems like a really good price.

Re: To buy or not to buy?

There's a lot more to it than "just adding an AWD tranny". It's not worth the trouble and expense in my opinion.

Re: To buy or not to buy?

I understand what's involved in it I'm just saying as a base car if the body is in good condition isn't 1500 a good price?

Re: To buy or not to buy?

My '92 LS-L isn't titled under my name but under my parents. They are letting me use it until I graduate from college. I am not really interested in buying it from them because the body isn't in the best condition. If I were to purchase this car it would be a project car. I would be doing a 5mt conversion and after that the sky's the limit.

Re: To buy or not to buy?

Looks like damage on the driver's side fender. From a financial standpoint, in this market it always makes sense to buy a car that is in nice condition or has already been fixed up. Let the previous owner take the hit on all the little parts/upgrades/repairs that had to be purchased.
