SVX motor in a kit car

Hello,
I am planning a project and already am about half way there on buying my SVX engine for my Kit car.

One thing though is Im looking for help on wiring the ECU.

My car already has a painless wiring harness installed. However I need a schematic of what I need to have the SVX implant in my car run just like it does in the SVX it came out of (electrically).

Would anyone possibly have a wiring schematic for the SVX ECU along with maybe what one doesnt need to make it run reliably?

In my signature below this text is a link to the service manual. It has wiring diagrams. As far as eliminating circuits, im sure someone can shed more light on that later.

Now I f i could find anyone willing to help to eliminate anything I DONT need for it to run in my kit car. (And tie into my painless wiring harness, using only federal emissions)

You might want to check on the VW Vanagans forums too. They have been swapping our engines into the vans for years. Most of us are none to happy about it, but it seems like some of their members that have done the swaps know the wiring pretty well.

Well this motor will going into one of these...

This ones mine taken 4 years ago.

Ive gone to the vanaru site, and managed to get plenty of people willing to relive me of 600 or more dollars just to tell me which wires I dont need, and what to hook to where. lol

Sterling... nice choice... if you can fit in the car to drive it. I don't think I would.

Most people around here get a little touchy... including me, if a good, running, healthy SVX gets taken off the road for something else's sake, wasting the rest of a rare car.

But a damaged, un-road-worthy shell donating it's EG33 to live on, is not a problem for me. I like seeing EG33s in airplanes, kit cars, or wherever else they can be used. I am just sad to see any viable SVX "killed" for parts, or any other reason.

I have long thought of a mid-engined kit car with an EG33 in it... but I don't have the money, space, tools, experience, or time to start a project like that now.

Best of luck to you. I do hope someone around here has the specific knowledge to help you, and I hope you share your progress and finished product with us.

No I wouldnt dream of tearing down such a beautiful car.
I had always wanted an SVX, I just never came across one when I was looking for a car.
Ill be buying a complete low mileage ready to install engine from a supplier.

The SVX engine will fit into the Sterling with a modified (shortened to remove rear diff) impreza manual 5 speed. In fact Ill have a whopping 3 inches to spare front to back. The end result should look alot like the engine bay of the lamborghini reventon.

Now as far as me fitting into the car, Im 6'2" and Id referr to it as climbing into a car sized shoe. You quite litterally "wear" the car. But when you pull up next to a vette, and he's looking DOWN at you. Its a funny sense of fun!

Driving a sterling is like strapping a V-8 to a Go Kart, its not something that can be described.

I look forward to sharing what I get done, I have to create a custom tubular sub frame for everything. But for now I need the wiring how to.
Im hoping to get some help on what the engine needs, and the ECU needs.
Then of course tack hook ups, gauges, etc.
I will hopefully splice it into the painless wiring harness I have in the car now.

I just really need to get the help on how to get this working electrically
