Re: cats and exhaust

Actually, this weekend I'm going to have a compression test done, I have a feeling that a head gasket is blown, the car was overheating today and the coolant was boiling in the overflow tank.. could be simple to fix, but since my coolant has turned brownish, there is oil in it....I think I found one major problem there dammit I'm pissed

Re: cats and exhaust

Yep, sounds like a HG, sorry.

As far as the exhaust goes, you can replace the front cats with SS resonators (don't go with ceramic or fg filled, as you don't want flakes of material going downstream to foul the primary cat) and replace the stock cat with a Magnaflow 2-1 high flow cat. You can replace the rear resonator with straight pipe with no loss of power. Leave the stock muffler in place (you can replace it with a late model Camaro single in, dual out muffler). This will result in a system that is roughly as quiet as the stock system, yet should free up a couple of hp.

-Bill

p.s. All We'll Drive does offer a complete exhaust system package you can order directly from them. Search the network for the thread.

p.p.s. DOD!! when did you come back on line? Welcome back!!
