To paint or not to paint calipers?
Now that I have new summer wheels that expose my brakes I've been thinking of cleaning up the brake hardware to make it look nicer. I've been thinking of painting the caliper hardware. I thought about powder coating but don't want to disassemble the calipers so that's why I'm thinking of painting. I just thought I would try and see what others have done with their calipers and how they have held up. I also wanted to get some ideas.

I have done a couple of sets red. I have another set that are yellow and I like the red best. They are painted and one is powder coated. If you clean them up real good and give them a couple of coats of paint, they should stand up very well.

Had to post this link, I was reading up on Swain exactly before I came here. Don't know how great a benefit it really is to coat your calipers with that stuff, and it's got to be about the most expensive "paint" you could choose, but they do mention calipers there.

I painted the calipers silver on my old SVX and they held up very very well.

I also painted mine silver which look pretty good and also stand up well.
I have no closeup pictures of the wheels to show.

Paint 'em. But make sure you do it right, not just the ricer style brush house paint on over grease sort of job.
