And the code may have been triggered by the fact that the resistor is bad. I checked the resistor and it is bad so have a new one coming from SVXfiles. I was going to wait and install the resistor to see if the code came back or not. Is that wise or should I get her in for a new solenoid. Also, would it be wise to replace the other solenoids A and C while having that done? I'm asking a lot already, but any ballpark cost ideas for parts and labor would be awesome.
Thanks,
Mac
Giday Mac, I don't know what the obd2 codes are, but I think you are looking at solenoid B, instead of solenoid A. If it was B you would not be getting the torque converter to lock-up. A is the one that controls the line pressure and is affected by a faulty resistor, so that is probably the one that Tom has said.

I would wait till the resistor is replaced, before going any further. B is the only one that you can replace easily, the rest you have to pull the pan and valve body. The rear of the box has to come off to replace the C.

As it is a 96, they should be OK. So I would not worry.

Harvey.
