Proper car storage.... opinions?

I'm curious....

When storing a vehicle for over a month, most tire manufacturers recommend lifting the weight off the tires to maintain their shape and avoid flat spotting.

My question is, if I were to garage the car, and put it up on jack stands, would that damage the suspension components?
