Help ...!

So my new SVX isn't fairing so well. Some chick ran a stop sign and I T-boned her the other day .. surprisingly little damage to my front end (hood popped a bit) but still, not a good thing.

I've had a problem thats been bugging me for a few weeks .. there is a "ticking" sound coming *when the car is in gear* starting around 2k rpm. I first figured the engine was low on oil or it was the lifters and got an oil change + seafoam .. to no avail.

I noticed if I put the car in NEUTRAL and rev it .. the engine sounds great! It sound very powerful and smooth. NO ticking sound.

So that can only leave the tranny right? I don't even know how to check the tranny fluid though ( i have no documentation and cant find a thread anywhere .. I'm guessing you have to get under the car right?

I'd hate to blow the tranny .. it shifts a little rough sometimes coming out of 1st but otherwise shifts ok. I was told the tranny was rebuilt but cannot confirm it.

Help, anyone?

the tranny fluid stick is just under the brake booster, i think it was a red handle - forget.
no need to go under the car

It could also be a cracked flexplate....
Cheap part ....expensive to install

Where is the flexplate located? I've been having the same problem with my car, but the ticking really isn't bad its just enough to notice it. I know my tranny is fine because mine was just rebuilt, but I know something is a little bit off somewhere

The flex plate is between the motor and the transmision....the tranny has to come out to replace it..

If it's a "Light" ticking, it may just be the injectors.

Lifters can tick too, but are noticable louder than the injectors.

Well if it's the injectors...they are supposed to click, but their click is not "Annoyingly" loud, such as a lifter tap is...
