Which Air Filter Is Best ???

What air filter is the best ? K&N or Green stock replacement or just remove the filter box and go with a cone free flow ?or ??? I will be installing the ECUTune stage 2 v6 and need to update the air filter.
I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks - Wayne

I've been using Dayle's stage 3 intake with Green filter. It works well and sounds awesome.

Ditching the stock, cold air intake in favor of a set-up that sucks hot air from the engine compartment isn't likely to accomplish anything, except draining dollars from your wallet.

i never liked K&N-style oiled gauze filters - they don't filter well, and the oil fouls up your MAF sensor.

i tried the Perrin foam panel filter (got it free with a purchase) and like it a lot. it flows as well as a K&N, filters much better, and is re-useable. the "oil" it uses is VERY thick unlike the thin K&N oil, so there's no way it will end up on your MAF sensor.

Perrin makes them, and also AMSOIL. if you can't find one to fit an SVX specifically, the 2002 WRX uses the same size.
