I smell gas

When I start the car cold in the morning there's a gas smell that lingers until the car warms up to normal operating temperature. After that the smell goes away.

i've looked under the hood and on the ground but there is no visual sign of any leak.

The car runs a little rough too when cold but not all that bad.

Any ideas?

Mine had the same problem. Sounds strange, but I had weak O2 sensors, and it was making the car run extremely rich. I smelt gas.

I replaced both O2 sensors, and the car started running smooth, my gas mileage went through the roof, and I no longer smell gas.

I'm not saying you have the same problem, but take a look at your last couple of emissions tests and see if they are getting worse.

Emissions Tests? What are those for?

I live about two miles beyond the border for emissions testing in my area. I wasn't even aware of it when I bought my home, really!

I got to smelling raw gas in mine upon startup a few weeks ago and found that the clamp on the engine side of the fuel filter had loosened just enough to allow gas to seep past, but only with the system pressurized. Hose is good; all I did was re-seat it and the clamp.

It could be possible you have a leaky injector.
