Tranny problem, or not?

Since I bought my SVX, I've not had any major tranny problems, but I figured I'd ask about this anyways.

The tranny shifts just fine, unless I bring it to redline in first gear. If I do this, it hits the limiter and slams right through 2nd into 3rd.

I don't think this is a major problem, since I never really drive fast in it, but I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this before.

Hi if I read this right, it runs up in first, hits peak rpms, stays there for a sec, and comes out in 3rd. If this is right it would seem that the brake band is slipping. The band can't stop the drum, so the rpms stay high, so it changes into 3rd.

A band adjustment may fix the problem, you should do it as it probably needs it.

Harvey.
