Well...I may not be Dale Earnhardt...

...but I can do a damn good impression in a pinch.

No more than 45min ago, I got run off the highway by an 18-wheeler. I was passing him at about 75, and he decides to pass the truck in front of him. I had nowhere to go except into the grass. So there I was, in the grass, on about a 45 degree hill, doing about 75. I tried to let off and stop, out of fear I was going to hit something I couldn't see in the tall grass, but every time I let off, the rear end started to come around. So, I held it for about 200yds or so, until I could get back onto the road. Then I caught back up to him and called him into the Staties.

I just thank the heavens for AWD. But now I need to have it checked out professionally to make sure the SVX is okay. The ride was rather bumpy.

"The whole F'in world's against me dude, I swear!"

Glad you're ok.

Wow, Sounds like a real pants stainer! Glad you're ok. How did the staties respond to your call? Interested? Unresponsive? I'd love to know if they did anything about it. Good thing you are able to drive defensively when needed.

Thanks guys. I'm honestly not quite sure yet how the Staties responded. Once I told the operator I was okay and back on the road, he seemed to loose interest. But, I kept losing my signal, so I called my wife, gave her the info, and had her call back. She said a trooper was going after the truck, and would let her know what happens, and I'll update once I find out what they do. Hopefully, at least a ticket for wreckless driving.

Update

Well, I just heard back from my wife. She talked to the trooper, and he just got the report within the last few minutes. So that means, with the time past, the trucker could be almost anywhere in the state. He also said that because the truck never actually touched me, it would be considered a single vehicle accident, and I'll have to pay for any damages to the car. I guess I should have just let him hit me.

But, I guess the trooper wants to talk to me, and is still going to find out who the trucker is. Like I said, hopefully he at least gets slapped with wreckless driving.

I think you should check your car for "damage". Actually I'm sure your alignment will be off.

I had a wacko in a minivan swerve at me intentionally on Saturday. I called 911 and told them I thought the guy was drunk. I don't think they got to him.

Yes, I'm sure it was intentional - he was flipping me off at the time. See, he was mad because just before that I was in the left lane, not going fast enough for him because there was another car in front of me.

I just don't understand what makes some people think behavior like that is okay.

I know someone like this. She will ride your bumper until you move, no matter how fast you are already going or how many cars are in front of you. EVERY car ride is a race to get to her destination as fast as possible, despite the fact that 99% of the time there is no rush for her to get there. I frequently see her on my drive home glued to the back bumper of some poor guy who can't get out of her wasy fast enough. I refuse to go anywhere in her car.

Here's the kicker: first of all she has a horrible driving record and pays ungodly amounts to insure her car. Apparently she is made of money because that has not slowed her down a bit. Secondly SHE SELLS CAR INSURANCE for a living! Maybe it's just me, but I think someone who is in the business would know better than to drive around like an idiot!!

I'm no angel, and I do like to speed now and then in light traffic or back roads. But most of my driving is within 10 mph over the limit and I rarely pass anyone. I leave with plenty time to get where I'm going, and I just go with the flow. It's amazing what people will do to shave a few minutes off of their drive.
