A nice Justy?

Ok so me and a friend of mine were talking and i told him i was looking into buying an old Justy and dropping in a 4G63T Mitsu. motor. FOr those that dont know thats a turbo charged 4 cyl that produces 195 BHP. THe engine was designed for DSM cars I.E - Talon, Eclipse, Laser, Galant VR-4. THe debate was that the justy might be fast but they look like $hit, so i chopped this stock beater to give him a quick idea of my vision, thought i'd share. Enjoy!

Nice! That chopped Justy looks hot....and with a turbo'd 4G63, it'll be a real sleeper!

I wasn't aware that a swap like that could be done. You know of it being done before? If you have any good links please share them. I would be interested in reading about it. It would sure make one hell of a sleeper!

I'd still like to stuff a SVX engine into the rear to make a $2006 challenge car. There's an auto one sitting at a lot. Beautiful body. Bad tranny. I think they want $200 for it or did 6 months ago.

I've never heard of any alternative engine being swapped into a Justy. The closest I've seen is a turbo from a Chevy Sprint sorta CFed onto a Justy. It seemed to work well enough.

But the layout is pretty much the same - transverse front-mounted inline engine with a 4WD drivetrain of some sort. I have little doubt that it could be done, but I guarantee you'd be looking at tons of custom work and parts.

By the way, I have a very clean Justy for sale, if anybody wants to try this.

Yes your Justy is clean but it's also only FWD. Is it possible to convert a FWD Justy to a 4WD one? If so I could supply the added parts.

I figure it wouldn't be that hard to convert. You would, of course, need a donor car. I considered doing it to my Justy, but it's so good in the snow the way it is I decided not to bother.

You never get stuck with a 4wd Justy. You go as far as you can in 2wd, if you get stuck put it in 4wd and you can always get out. (or keep on going )

I don't live in Canadialand, so I never got stuck with the 2WD. Granted, there were situations and conditions I avoided so I wouldn't get stuck, but that's part of the fun of winter driving.

I made a few quick measurements just for fun once, and I'm pretty certain an EG33 with a FWD tranny would fit. But there are all sorts of weird issues you'd have to gte around, and the car would absolutely, positively need a custom cage inside. It's pretty flexible already, and cutting a hole big enough to fit that engine in the back will only make things much worse.
