I use Shell V-Power because I got the credit card that gets me 5% off. I used to use Mobil. I will not use any "discounted" off brands that go with names around here of Raceway, US Fuel, Delta or Buy Right. These stations sell gas cheap beacuse it has stuff that the major producers need to get rid of. That is why it is discounted.

it's the "i want to save $0.04/gallon on gas by buying from a cheapo station" sort of gas that'll get you in trouble. [/B][/QUOTE]
To repeat myself again, & again, & again: I guess I've been "in trouble" since my first tankfull of Panther Puke back in '57. Not once have I had a car die or choke to death on "bad" gas. Ron (Runnin' on Citgo today, tomorrow God knows).

I can't run 87 octane Shell gas in my XT6 (supposed to run on 87), it stumbles and misses pretty badly, and my Motorcycle doesn't run well on Shell 93 Octane, but they both run great on the Citgo gas.....I think different suppliers have different product, even when it's a brand name.

Gas/FYI
Hi everyone, You probably know this. You stop off at your favorite gas place and notice they are getting a shipment of gasoline. So you think, great, I'll be getting really fresh gas. Maybe, but you are likely to get all the gunk that was in the bottom of the tank. Take a rain check and stop later in the day when the junk has settled out. Take care, BOBB

92 octane QuikTrip, usually. Mostly 'cause they've got cheap drinks.

Well the refineries end up with stuff that can't be sold for airplane fuel, diesel/home fuel, propane and tar for our roads. This is lost revenue for the refineries if they can't put it somewhere. The name brands all have standards for what can go in the gas. The off-brands have lesser more relaxed standards.

I try to stay with the same gas stations but I avoid one local place like the plague. If I fill up with their premium in either svx it will blow white smoke every few startups.

My 2 cents:
I've noticed a great improvement in performance and milage since I started running Shell V-Power gas. While this probably means the s**t I'd been running before was clogging my injectors and the Shell gas cleaned them out, I now run exclusively Shell or Chevron. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. |
