I want an SVX!!!
Greetings to all, Ive been watching the papers and even ebay but there arent many for sale in my neck of the woods in VA... pls pass on some good advice for me PRIOR to me making a big mistake.
I currently have a nice 88 4wd XT that I like a lot but Id love to step up to a nice 94-96 SVX that I can do some mods to.

Welcome to the site! Where in VA do you live? I live in Charlottesville about an hour from Richmond and two hours from D.C.
There aren't alot of late model SVX's in this area. I bought mine in Blacksburg and got a really good deal on it. If you're nearby, maybe we could meet up sometime! -Chike Quote:

Hi, I love to take a peek since I have admired these cars and read a lot but have never seen one ( or driven one) in person. The bummer part is Im in the Navy and am being transfered to Canada THIS WEEK!! I suppose my 4WD XT will get some use up there?? HA HA If you mind me asking what did you pay for yours?? What ball park price should I expect to pay for a 94-96?? I read that I should stay away from 92/3 cause of the tranny issues?? Is that true?? Thanks Chris

So you're in the Navy...cool! Are you down in the Hampton Roads/ Newport News area?
The dealer advertised my car for $8,900 and I also had a '00 SVT Lightning to trade in. They first were giving me $7,900 for the SVX and $15,500 for my trade. We haggled for weeks, and in the end I got them to knock the price of the SVX down to $5,900 and raise my trade-in to $17,500 (owed 20K on the truck). I put 2K down and now I'm financing next to nothing for the next 36 months!!! -Chike Quote:
