I wouldn't worry about eBay removing the item - it's not an actual auction item on eBay's site.

Now, I guess if it got enough traffic, eBay might ask the site administrators or authors to take it down or risk legal action. But I doubt that. There are countless eBay auction spoofs on the web.

That's what I was thinking too Nick (the item number immediately gave it away that it wasn't a joke auction on the real Ebay). But then to see how elaborate they got with their spoof I started clicking on the high bidder names and seller names. Those are actual real ebay members and the guy with that seller name has a disclaimer on his "about me" page talking about this fake auction and the confusion and hate mail he is getting. Whoever created this actually copied some real info from ebay somehow apparently. So Ebay may indeed be looking into shutting this down.

Well, all he did was make the links on the page work like real eBay links and point to places on eBay. If you pay attention at all to where the links take you, it's clear that he just sorta 'hijacked' a joke auction he created for just this purpose.

So, I still say that if eBay has anything to say about it at all, it'll be for using their logo and other trademarks and copyrights...
