Alternate MAF question

I've seen many threads mentioning using a Z32 MAF as a performance alternative to the stock unit. Has anyone explored the idea of using a MAF from a GM LT1? The stock F-Body units are 3 1/2" and the B-Body units are 3". I have a 3" MAF from a Caprice cop car LT1 that I swapped into my Datsun 240Z. I replaced it with a 3 1/2" unit so the smaller one is just rattling around in my garage.
Does anyone know how this size compares to the stock and Z32 MAFs?
I know the ECU chip would require a reflash so I can't just plug it in but I think these GM MAFs are probably much cheaper then the Z32 units.
