That doesn't matter. According to Mr. Pockets, moderators can delete threads that they feel COULD develop into a flame war. Yep. There could be nothing wrong or offensive in the thread, but if you mention something like race, look out.

when you start a thread titled " If you're black, no cadillac" you are clearly trying to incite some ill feelings among the masses, not spark a healthy discussion. Use your head.

Actually no. It was just that black and caddillac rhymed, and seeing as how if you were black prior to 1932, you couldn't buy a caddy, I came up with the ultra snappy "If you're black, no caddillac" title which was deleted by some overly sensative trigger happy moderator.

I reposted the thread with a bunch of disclaimers that really shouldn't have had to been posted in the first place, and guess what? NO PROBLEMS. The moderator was wrong.

First off, I don't know what ignant is. Secondly, I had no ill intentions. It's interesting stuff about automotive history and a HUGELY popular marque that's alive today was SAVED by some guy who WAS NOT RACIST. I thought that people on this forum could appreciate it, and it seems they can.

The problem is the ****ing moderation in this place. The thread was fine. It still is fine. There have been no derogatory remarks, and the moderator who removed the original thread cannot admit he was wrong.

Good riddance.

Marque!!!! IT IS YOU ROB!!!!!!!!!! Oh my God. How you doing man? Still got those itchy fingers?

I'm sorry, I was trying to be cool like you using the word black and all. I really meant, ignorant but some areas in the dirty south people say it really fast with a southern twang and it comes out as ignant. Since we down here in the south aren't as intelligent as the fine folks up North, I beg for your forgiveness.

Black and Cadillac. Sounds catchy. How about Smack and Cadillac? Crack and Cadillac? LowJack installed in Cadillac? Or how about you use some tact to rhyme with Cadillac? Dude, I could be like a poet, just like you!

Oh yeah, this is not an attempt to start a flame war. I'm just joking with ya.

how did we go from religion to black people and cadillac? and further more how did cadillac go from a hauler for old people to the rappers delight (that statement has nothing to do with race if you think it does your a fool) cadi's were never popular with young people and it is suprising how in 5 years they go from old and crusty to the desire of most people. to bad that didnt work for subaru in the mid 90's

Umm...there's reason for their popularity and it didn't begin 5 years ago. It's been going on for what??? 30 years?? Maybe more? Ask some African Americans. Maybe they'll be able to explain it to you.

I usually use 110v, but for welding I prefer 220v for higher power.

yeah i know they been popular. but the age of their target demographick has changed dramaticly from older to younger. its surprizing for a luxury car company to be sucessful with such a young age group. and their performance models have changed quite a bit as well. its kind of what subaru has done with entering both compact performance with the wrx, mid sized luxury, and mid sized suv with outbacks and the baja. until recently very fey forigen car companies have been sucessful with such a wide model range. (i dont include american cars because gm makes everyhing, probably
at the cost of quality because everything is standardized parts acrost the gmc pontiac and chevy line)
