Jen and the SVX through the years...

So I was looking through old pics and thought maybe I would put some of them together in a sort of write up(or pic up).

Back in 2001/2002 My senior yr of high school I was dating a boy for @ a yr and he had an SVX... I had a chrysler Lebaron, that i loved, but hated.
Tiny pic but you get the idea...

He had a claret 92 at the time, his first car and he though it was the awesomest thing ever.
Then he crashed that car into a tree on the passenger side... I was in the car and there was metal coming into the passenger side foot compartment but somehow we both got out of there with nothing but bruises and some aches and pains.
Then he got a black car with a blown tranny and engine... I helped tear apart the claret wreck and basically the engine/trans from the claret went into the black car and the interior went into the basement for "just in case" parts...
I got to help with that whole swap which was cool and then I really started to want one of my own... This was the black car...

Then we attended Reading 4, and a tri-state meet and the obvious awesomeness of the SVX-network became apparent.



Then I finally was able to find an svx I liked that was pretty local and I went for it... So now I had one and he had one...


But alas apparently having 2 at the house was too much and well he ended up getting crashed into at an intersection(lucky for me this time it was the drivers side last time that seat belt bruise was a pain)


Sooo... At this point had gotten an amc javelin but we were both still active here on the forum and I attempted to put together a mini long island meet. Some of you might recognize this years Reading Raffle car from the pics... And Jesse's old car


Ok so fast forward 2 years later. Now I was single and went on a road trip in my car with my best friend down to the dragon
You can see my car in the group shot...

Sooo the dragon was an awesome trip, 12 hr ride there. I drove it on 2.5 hours cause I couldn't sleep since I was sooo excited. Had fun for the whole weekend and then, lost my transmission on the way home in about the middle of VA. I actually trailered the car down to the mechanic that was working on GreenMarine's car, in NC, since he had a transmission ready to go into the car and eventually flew down about a month later to pick it up. That was actually my first airplane ride ever. The weeks without my car were tough but I knew she'd be back.

Then I started hanging out with the Long Island subaru club and made some more friends... And took some more pics...

I was continuing to love my car and take cute pics...



And then it happened... Not so long ago, but it was september of 06 and my car met a terrible end... Well actually it met the rear end of a ford of sorts that was running a red light...


And then I spent a sad 3 months basically to the day driving a crapalier...
And finally after spending that 3 months looking I found an svx worth buying. I got it from Dansvx94 on the board.


And then I was literally a lot happier. It's amazing that a car can really change your spirit.
But yet again literally 3 months later an old lady backed into my car... while it was parked and snowy out...


So that was last year and since then she's been treating me well, and still taking nice pics(mostly from the passenger side now)


Oh and I went to the dragon again... But chose not to drive in 2007

I even ended up making some of my bff's in LISC


So now here I am, I'll say about 7 years later and still loving my car... Taking pics every chance I can...

So... I think this about sums it up. I imagine there is some stuff I'm leaving out but the SVX has really had an impact on my life throughout the years. I talk to some of the members like Mike(Mike621), Lwin(Seraph), Chris(greenmarine) regularly for years now and even more lately since Reading.

So here's to you SVX Network!

haha yea... Stop trying to steal my spotlight!!! But for realz I think the "you're number one" gesture in the pic wasn't quite fitting with the story.

This is nice.

Looking through your pics...I was at that Dragon, actually you can see my lil girl (Shelby the XT6..miss her lots), sitting around the camp fire was great. I think when you were having car troubles Hocrest and I just pasted you and then you disappeared.

Good times.

Oh and you kill me...you are the only person I know who would get out of the car while in the midst of getting pulled over and take pictures :O)

Awesome story and very kewl pics. It amazes me that no matter how crappy my day is i can get in my SVX and go for a drive and everything will be so much better. what an amazing car we own.
