I know that this is BS (although he knew what it was right off, and said he had a STI that someone had just toataled and he has always like the SVX) He got 29k for the STI, and was looking around...

O am not in the market to sell, but for a price like that, I would get all my money back and be able to get a newer car... Like the '98 Supra I found...
That is certainly not what the car is worth, but if there is a fool out there willing to pay it..... Go for it....

Time for another trip to Massachusetts!

Just kidding.

On a side note... I may be selling my Emerald Pearl later this year.

The thing is, I started buying other daily drivers to store the SVX, which was my 'nice' car. It's been my pet for years now, and I've put maybe 1500 miles on it in the past three years. Now I have a daily driver that is nicer than the 'nice' car.

Maybe I just need to drive it, I don't know. It's been sitting quietly in the garage all winter, and I used to get it out the first day the salt was washed off the roads. We've had no salt for weeks and tons of rain, and yet I haven't even opened the garage. Maybe that's because I have the RX-8 now, and maybe it's because I have a new water pump waiting on the workbench to go on the SVX, which it really needs before it goes anywhere.

I'm not saying I'm going to sell it, just that I'm accepting the possibility that it might not be with me forever as I had hoped.
i'm right there with ya. everyday, it gets more difficult to justify having a car i never drive. and on top of that, it still requires some maintenance. look for me to take drastic measures in the near future.

I don't know what it'd take to make me part with my SVX. I guarantee it'd take someone being insane with thier cash though.

I'm not looking to sell, but were someone to offer me cash for what I've got in either of mine (purchase price, tires, parts... in other words, way more than the "book" value), I'd probably let one go. My second car really needs to be a $500 pickup truck.

i've considered, reconsidered, re-reconsidered and then completely scrapped the idea of selling my baby all in the past 2 months. I feel I'm in a pretty good situation owning the car out-right with nothing but insurance to pay for.

But if someone asked, i'd go with no less than 15k. I'd buy myself a little Fiero and make it look like a Ferrari

Only thing I'd let my go is for one w/a manual tranny, or a Laguna. Either has to have similar millage/condition.

My SVX is priceless so I can't get any buyers for it!!!!!!

Oh okay I'll be serious here. It's not for sale!!! I would not take any amount of money for it!!!!

I love my SVX and I know too much about it to see it go.

Okay Okay now I will be serious. This was a serious question right? Well I think that I would have a difficult time getting a buyer for my SVX that has about 330k miles on it. So it just will not happen. But lets say I get oh $500 for it. What am I going to buy for $500 that works and is as reliable as my SVX? Wow I would have to fix up whatever I buy to get it running as well as my SVX does right now. It's not for sale it's priceless. Pricelees becauses it's paid for and runs.

Take care of that SVX,
John
