Inside the innernet
I prefer English. There, I've nailed my colours to the mast.
I have an observation though, it relates to "texting" {Texting, a non-word seems to be accepted as a verb here in Ireland these days} There are some countries, some markets, who use text more than others. If people use it more than they use email, then the shortcuts creep into ordinary writing. So although I don't use it much and don't like it, I still accept that others may prefer it and use it more than I do. I respect that. I might choose not to respond to them if it think it un-necessarily off-hand, but that's the risk they take, and I still respect them. However I would consider sacking anybody in my office I found using it for business communication. Call me biased, see if I care.

500+WHP would take a lot of time and money. Me and YT are around the very low 300's now and to get another 200whp.... Eeeesh I don't even want to think as to how much $$$ it would take. Not to mention the car would lose all daily driving capabilities.

So, 160-170hp at the wheels. AWHP then?
My friend has a 1996 VR6 Jetta and I believe he puts down about 190 at the crank - what would that be at the wheels? And, is my car faster than his? I know it makes more hp - that's for sure. I guess off the line, it's probably not weighing nearly two tons and all...

When you relate outputs for the EG33 with the EJ20 turbo engine, 500+ hp at the crank does not seem to be a big ask from the engine, and I can't see it being mega expensive. The standard EJ20 with turbo & intercooler gives about 280 crank. Working this figure up to a displacement of 3.3 litres gives 280/2.0 X 3.3, which gives us 462 crank horsepower from the SVX engine. This implies the EG33 will give us 462 horse in the mild state of tune of the WRX. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they run about 17 lbs pressure in WRX trim?** ** Calculator says 18 lbs required for this hp. An Sti might be giving 340 @ crank, so the same displacement sum yields 561 crank hp from the EG33 using Sti boost figures. Now I don't know what an Sti normally boosts to, but my calculator shows 561 hp requiring 26 lbs of boost delivering 930 CFM of charge through an 85% efficient intercooler. Engine crank output figures, not at the wheels. This will obviously not be done for pennies or buttons, but the EG33 is such a strong basis for more power, it will be done relatively cheaply. The secret as I have said many times before is in the charge cooling. Who's going to be the first to show 500 on a dyno, then, eh??

To answer the question about the jetta, theres a formula that roughly calculates drivetrain losses for all types of engine placements and drivetrain arrangements. AWD of course, makes out the worst, FWD the best, and RWD somewhere in betweens... *roughly*

190 CHP ought to net him about 130 WHP in a AWD application, maybe 140 WHP in a FWD or RWD application.. As to whose car is fastest...depends on condition, and gear ratios....

2.2 is 2/3 2.2l turbo
if we could get the heads like the 2.2L turbo we could have prportional factory hp with interchangable parts.

We already have 12 valve heads like the 2.2 turbo. The only major difference would be in the compression ratio. Interchangeable parts? I really don't understand what you are getting at here at all. It does not make much sense. Joe

What you say is true Bill, but the whole idea of building an engine is to strengthen it for power. Good internals and a closed or a semi closed deck should be enough to bring the EG33 up to Sti level of power handling. Which with our displacement is over 500 hp. Joe
