Thank you Mr Pockets. I didn't realize there were speed sensors inside the trans. I was under the impression that the ABS & TCU worked hand in hand, thus the statement of the ABS supplying the signals exclusively.

I DID say I simplified the process, I knew that ths Duty C is a chatter valve. When you say clutch pressure to a non Soob person, they don't automatically see that you mean that the pressure allows more or less slip. The solenoid varies line pressure. The line pressure to the clutch allows the torque split. On a dry road, under full acceleration, this means that there is likely a 70\30 f\r split. On ice however there is a 50\50 split, effectively duplicating a 4wd system, however temporarily.

I laughed when I read the first post. That fuse only applies if you had the auto trans in the car.

Edit: Whoa didnt read how it got personal. Jeez guys, cool it.

We all have our moments. I remember when i drove tom's 6 speed to the store and I couldn't figure out the how to get the car into reverse so I had to push the car backwards in order to turn around.

Well, no great need for a lock-down, there is good information in this thread for noobies and others.

Keep it cool Brian, it's only a joke.

Thanks for not locking it down. Just wondering because I am new to this forum and I have been printing out a lot of the technical answers so I don't loose them. Do you keep these threads open for a certain amount of time? Do you store them for future use somewhere else? or should I keep printing out the good one for future problems with my car.
Paul.

Paul.
They're pretty much here forever. Something that I do for threads that have info that I'll need in the future, is to use the "thread tools" -> "subscribe to thread" -> "no notification".

This saves a "bookmark" list of threads and is much easier than using the search tool if I know I'll need to reference it later.

Paul

We only pull the thread completely from public view if it gets totally out of hand or libelous or obscene.

What I'm saying 99.9% of all threads are still accessible, just search.

Most of the info you might want are in the How-To section above top right, but sometimes a search will get you something specific that is not listed as an article.

Joe

You are automatically subscribed to the thread when you post in it Paul.

Unsubscribe first, then go back into thread tools, you will see what he means.

Then go to User CP and you can manage the threads you want in folders.

You can always try SVXrides method for getting other peoples car to go backwards. It has nothing to with a reverse gear either!
