OT-- World Series

The ghosts at Yankee Stadium were on the prowl and playing tricks on the Arizona Diamondbacks again last night.

I can almost see the Babe, Lou, Joe D., Billy, Mick, the Raj, Casey, etc. As long as there are monuments in this stadium they will play their game.

This present Yankee team still has a daunting task in front of them. Tomorrow night they must bat against R. Dub. J., and Sunday they will face Curt Schilling again. Both of these pitchers are headed for the hall of fame.

I just wish that the Yanks would win their games in the first 3 innings. This staying up late and getting up early is beginning to affect me. I'm really in a fog. I better not do any serious engineering computations today. As my old calculus professor used to say; "Sign wrong, bridge buit upside down - no partial credit." He was a real hard nose.

two things,

The D-back reliever from the last two nights, well his career w/them may be "sionara" (sp?)

I would hate to try to hit against the Big Unit. It would be intimidating staring at a guy who throws over 100mph, stands (on the mound) over 7' tall, if you're left handed throws from behind your ear right at you, and has a nickname that says he has a huge penis.

For obvious reasons, I'm rooting for the diamondbacks, although I don't share his "nickname." A less obvious reason would be that the Randy Johnson autographed baseball I bought over a year ago as a "novelty" for 36.95 on e-bay, will increase in value. I know, it ain't a 401K but, every little bit helps, in a pinch.

Everyone saw it when (was it last year?) Randy Johnson killed a bird with a pitch, right?

what the manager for the diamondbacks was thinking.......i have no idea. kim gives up the game tieing and winning home run last night and you have the balls to bring him in again in the same situation! i am much too frustrated to talk about this........

A theory

The way the last couple games have played out, and I mean just the sheer improbability of it all, leads me to only one possible conclusion. Someone closely tied to the Yankees organization "went down to the crossroads". There is simply no other possible explanation.

Might be the applesauce talking, though.

I think that Yogi Berra descibed the last 2 games perfectly, when he said; "It's dejavu all over again!! "

Not to mention his advise upon coming to a fork in the road. Speaking of which, remember Johnny Carson's "Art Fern" & the fork in the road, & Carol Wayne? I'll never forget two things about Carol Wayne!
More mam...memories, Larry.
Ron.

I disagree with those who said Bob Brenley made a mistake by bringing in Kim again. Kim struck out 4 Yankees in 2 innings before O'neil hit a broken bat, bloop single and Martinez hit his home run. He pitched well for a closer not named Rivera.

In the Thurs. nite game, I do fault Brenley for removing his pitcher , who I think was named Morgan, and putting in Albie Lopez.

Unhappy

Game six, inning four, Arizona 15, the other team 0.
It's ugly, Larry. My deepest sympathy. Ron.

Let me be the first to congratulate you & all the Yankee fans in winning an improbable series. Oh, it's still the seventh inning, but you're ahead by a run & Mariano's about to enter the game, so what could POSSIBLY go wrong? I'm happy you're happy, Larry.
Ron.
