FS:97 LSi Ebony 52000 original miles needs nothing!!!

Hello All,

A large family move and out of the country in the near future is causing me to down size my fleet of classics. Already sold my 1974 Mazda RX4 Coupe (34K Miles), 74 Alfa GTV2000 Coupe (75K Miles), 76 Corvette Stingray, and soon selling my 1988 BMW M6 (53k Miles) and my 1993 Mazda RX7 FD (18K Miles). I will try and hang on to my 1072 Triumph STAG (36K miles).

Location of the SVX:Montreal, Quebec, Canada but can deliver to Champlain, NY Boarder for free or Phoenix, Z for $900

Year:1997

Model:LSi

VIN:JF1 CX8654 VH100014

Manufacture date:07/96

Paint Color: Ebony Pearl

Interior Color:Beige

Miles:+-52000

Options:LSi top model, all factory options for USA, no seat warmers

AWD or FWD:AWD

Modifications:None

Major service:Always maintained at Subaru Dealer in PA, USA. Rear brakes done 3000 miles ago, Battery 1 Year old

Engine Condition:Excellent

Maintenance Records:Available at Subaru in PA.

Transmission condition:Excellent

Glass condition:All Excellent

Type of tire and remaining tread:at least 70% on Summers and 100% on winters since I never ended up using in it winter

Type of wheels:OEM

Interior condition:Excellent and needs nothing but a rear speaker grill trim which has a tiny crack that hard to see

Body condition:Excellent but for three very hard to see dings no chips or cracks on them

Known defects or problems:front right ABS Tone ring which I am changing this week.

Comments about the car:see my long story

Asking price:10K

The car is currently located in Montreal, Canada on the east coast.
I can deliver it to Champlain, NY boarder if one wants for free as its only 40 minutes from me or to Phoenix, AZ for $900.

Regretfully up for sale is my:
1997 SVX Ebony/Beige LSi
51000 original certified miles
Original Bill of Sale
Original window sticker
I am the second owner and all service records are on file at Subaru in PA, USA
OEM cup holders
I have both working OEM key remotes
Super Clean inside, outside, and including engine plus bay
The interior is near perfect, no tears, crack or wear any place
Needs nothing not even al oil change
It was never used in the winter and is rust free outside and underside
No restoration needed for anything
I do have a new set of Yokohama Snow Ice Tires that will go with it but I don't suggest using this one in our extreme winter weather-too nice
Summer tires are in great shape
The front right mag has a bit of the silver finish bubbling-an easy fix. No curb rash on any of the four mags.
All stock inside and out. Two very hard to see dings on rear right quarter a and one of front right fender at the very tip where it meets head light (wife parks next to me) on that side in the garage. No paint chips.

I had to replace the hood last year as when I put it outside to clean out the garage a truck bumper my rear and in front of me was a Nissan Rouge (my father in laws car). Since his rear bumper was higher than mine it bent the front of my hood. I did not want to repair the hood and bought a new OEM hood from Subaru. I also changed the hinges just to be safe but they were fine. Nothing else was changed, not the grill, lights or anything else. I have pictures of the damaged hood to prove the light damage. Again, this was not a moving accident and it was only bumped from the rear and pushed up to the car in front of me. I had kissed his rear when I parked to save space!!
Email me and I would be happy to go through the entire car with you from A to Z, I don't like surprises myself and don't offer them.

Let me know if you have interest or know anyone who might be and PM me for first contact.

This will be odd but I can deliver the car to Phoenix, Arizona for $900 some time by end of Dec as I have another car being transported there for personal use and adding a second will only cost that much.

Registering it in the USA would be easy as its originally a USA car.

I would consider selling it for 10K USD. Its a 97 and fewer than 600 cars were made this year. Its a very nice example, never abused two owner low mile car.

If I don't get my price I will just keep it and throw it into storage or end up transporting it to where I am moving.

Thanks for looking

Max

The car had not been detailed when these picture were taken and the spots you may see on the lower part of the door is just dust/dirt. I had done a quick wash. Pictures are from last fall sometime in Nov 2008. Car is in same condition and only has 2000 to 3000 miles added since. In the picture the car wears the Yokohama snows but its had never been used last winter, I just couldn't do it in the end. It was suppose to be my winter car since its AWD. The snow tiers are still like new.

I have lots more pictures inside and out.

Smokin'

Somebody is going to get a very nice example.

But $10k is a significant chunk of change for a car more than a decade old that isn't wearing a Porsche crest or something. If you end up keeping it, at least you are keeping a nice automobile. Just make sure to store it and maintain it properly, to keep it so nice.

I can't believe that me of all people forgot to use Earl's format for details when selling an SVX. I will update the post.

Hello

Thanks, yes its very nice. I don't find the price so high. I see many buying SVX's for $1500 to $4000 and then spending many more thousands on paint, interior and mechanical work often adding up to more than my asking price. This car is ready to go and original. Just my thoughts.

Thanks

Max

I just put your info on my value graph and it fit right in the normal line of price with the mileage and other info. Your price is not too high for what you have. Good luck with the sale, but you may kick yourself after you have sold it. Many have been there after doing that.

A real one. Earl keeps track of as many svxi sales as he can. He also tracks ebay/autotrader/etc. sites as well. Basically he can tell you what your car is worth in real market better than what kbb.com can because its real world and not just guesses from kbb.

Hello Earl,

Thanks for the post. I know I will be kicking myself in the very near future. For selling this one and my others. I have not had much time to enjoy this car (nor any of my other classics either for that matter). The family move and business change forces the sale. I will be moving out of Canada to Phoenix AZ for the next 6 months with the whole family (wife plus two kids under 3) for unpaid training for my soon to be new business. Expenses will rack up high as I am currently carry a mortgage here in Canada until the house sells and a rental there. Not mention school and all other expenses in life that come with living....all while no income to speak of. The we move to FLorida for good, if all goes as planned. My family needs will have to come before mine for the next year or so. The family Volvo Wagon will need to be the vehicle that remains. It is all in the hopes of a better future and quality of family life. Time will tell.

I will buy back another in 2 or 3 years, thats for sure and, I will remain on here as my love this model still remains. Who knows, maybe I'll buy this exact one back....

Again, thanks

Max

Max,
My condolences on being forced to part with your classics. Sad to be sure. Hopefully life will reward you for making the right choices for your family. Kudos to you. Nice SVX, fairly priced. Good luck with the sale.

Glenn

Max, I'm really sorry to hear of you having to part with the wonderful cars you have collected. Very sad.

I wish you the best with your sale, the price seems very fair to me. Very few SVXes turn up in this condition these days.

Stay with us, you are an SVX man at heart. I know you will get another when you are rewarded with success.

Joe
