Pinout for engine plugs?
Hey guys, I'm finally working on getting the SVX harness to merge to the 91 Legacy harness for my upcoming swap. I've got a wire that I apparently pulled out of one of the engine harness side plugs (I'm pretty sure it's the big round one) and I cannot find a picture of those plugs to save my life. Anyone here have one somewhere? Thanks!

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
My scanner is off so I have taken a pic of the wiring diagram, you will have t work out which side of,the plug you are look at. The plug is B6. It looks like it is the knock sensor and the shielding.

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Sweet! Thank you much! That should help me get squared away. Too bad all the FSM links are dead these days. I guess I should have downloaded them the last time I logged in to this site.. 10 years ago lol

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Actually, I've got to see the wires coming from the ECU to pins 12 and 13 of the B6 connector. Those pictures you gave me are, however, very helpful in verifying what I'm looking at. Thanks again!

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Yes I looked for 12/13 too could not see them, I'll have another look and post it if I can find them.

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Hmm, how about if I told you that it was the black and yellow starter signal wire from pin 10 of the second smallest yellow ECU plug? There's a good possibility I'm completely wrong and it doesn't go to that round plug at all lol

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Mate sorry but, there is no 12/13 listed in my Australian FSM.
The US car does have another unit that we don’t have, that is a temp sensor for the EGR system that is on the inlet manifolds EGR line that tells if hot gas is flowing when the EGR is working, the Aus car does not have it, so that could be what 12/13 are used for.

As far as I can see it comes from the inhibitor switch circuitry not plug B6.

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Quote:
The oil pressure switch completes a circuit to the oil pressure warning light and therefore should be normally open. You can verify the circuit by shorting socket wire "12" to ground and observing the warning light with the ignition on. You will probably be able to measure some resistance between plug wire "13" and ground and shorting the socket wire to ground should move the gauge.

Re: Pinout for engine plugs?
Ok, maybe I pulled the wire from a different plug. Can anyone tell me which plug the black and yellow wire goes to when it leaves the ECU connector?

Here's the wiring diagram section:
https://cardiagn.com/1992-96-subaru-...oubleshooting/ Full (I think, I didn't check each volume for completeness) manual set: https://cardiagn.com/1992-1996-subar...iring-diagram/ |
